What are
Personas?
For those unfamiliar with the term — Personas are representative people whose goals and characteristics reflect the needs of a larger group. They are designed after extensive research, normally through interviews and analysis into a specific group.
We can create hypothesis into how these personas would act or react in specific situations, but we would never assume anything that we do not know. Nor do we believe anyone should be met with disrespect or judgement.
Personas are archetypes, not stereotypes.
Awareness is
empowering.
